So, tell me: what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?
I want to explore. I want to learn. I want to create. Through Lauren Somewhere, I do just that.
Hey there, my name is Lauren! I’m a writer, avid-reader, teacher-in-training and wine lover. I grew up in a small Northern California town most notably known as the “Garlic Capital of the World” and I spent my college years in sunny San Luis Obispo near California’s Central Coast. Clearly, I’m a California girl through and through.
I started this blog in June 2016 after spending eight fantastic months in India, Cambodia and Nepal post-college graduation — my longest trip to date so far. Currently, I am pursuing a teaching credential to teach high school history and English with a long-term plan to become an international teacher. I can’t think of a better job than one that allows me to continue my education every day, make meaningful connections with others and travel.
If you love to discover quirky, off-beat travel destinations and your heart leaps for joy at the opportunity to learn anything culture or history related, then you’ll feel right at home here. This is a space to relish in the magic of local exploration, as well as a guide for curious visitors to the golden state. Consider this blog your ultimate travel and culture guide for adventurous souls!
If you need to get in touch with me, if you have any travel questions or you’d like me to write something for your site/publication, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Also, don’t forget to add me on Facebook and Twitter to stay up-to-date on all my adventures. Thanks for visiting!
